What Atlas is
Your connection changes.Your presence doesn't.
Atlas starts with the person — not the network, the device, the VPN tunnel, or the application. It holds one identity and one Internet presence that follows you across Wi-Fi, cellular, carriers, and devices, and that services can verify instead of just address.
Nothing today owns the whole picture.
Identity providers authenticate you to one application at a time. VPNs secure a tunnel between two points. ISPs sell connectivity and an address. Each does its own job well, but none of them follow the person underneath.
So presence resets every time the network, device, or location changes — and the services you rely on fall back to trusting where your traffic comes from, because they have no reliable way to verify who is actually behind it.
Identity, presence, and routing, in one layer.
Atlas brings identity, Internet presence, intelligent routing, and network delivery together so a person's presence can remain consistent while their device, network, location, and underlying Internet path all change underneath it.
It maintains a user-controlled Presence, observes the network and IPv4/IPv6 paths actually available, applies that person's own LENS policies, and decides — in real time — how that Presence should reach the Internet next.
An identity doesn't need to borrow someone else's network.
Most of the Internet trusts a connection because of where it comes from — a residential ISP address, a network that looks legitimate — not because it can verify who is actually behind it. Network type has become a stand-in for identity, and stand-ins are exactly what get blocked.
Atlas is being built as both a software platform and an Internet infrastructure layer. Today that means its own control plane, secure mesh, and multiple geographic egress locations. The planned ISP layer extends this further, through Atlas-operated points of presence, its own ASN, and registered IP resources — giving Atlas control of more of the delivery path instead of depending entirely on third-party VPN or cloud egress.
The result is a declared, attestable network origin standing behind a provable identity — so the identity does the proving, instead of the network address doing it by proxy.
Your connection changed. Your presence didn't.
Move from home Wi-Fi to cellular, to a hotel network, to a work connection — Atlas keeps watching. It observes every connection stage, from IP reachability and DNS through secure key exchange and tunnel establishment to live post-connection performance, applies the right policy to the right traffic, and quietly selects the best path out.
Increasingly, bounded AI assistance identifies problems as they happen and recommends — or, where permitted, makes — the routing adjustment itself. The experience stays simple even as everything underneath it changes.
